2. What is Holi?
• In India, Holi announces the arrival of spring and the passing of winter.
The Hindu holiday is celebrated in March all around the world.
• Young and old alike are covered with colors (red, green, yellow, blue,
black ). People in small groups are seen singing, dancing and throwing
colors on each other.
• Holi got its name as the "Festival of Colors" from Lord Krishna who liked
to play pranks on the village girls by drenching them in water and colors.
• It’s a festival to celebrate good over evil.
3. The night before the throwing of the colors there is
a big bonfire with dancing and food.
