Why?
Time:
I will take my
photographs for my
magazine during the
day, around midday
so that the lighting
is good, and no
shadows are on my
models’ face.
Date:
I will take the photographs on 9th November,
so that I have a week to edit and manipulate
the images on Photoshop before starting my
front cover, this means I will be able to just
insert the image, ultimately speeding up my
work flow.
Location:
I will take my images against a plain white wall
or in front of a brick wall. For those I take in
front of a white wall, I could potentially leave in
the background. I feel that a brick wall may look
appealing to a target audience of a pop
magazine, as bright coloured clothing would
stand out against this.

Why?
For my magazine, I
will need to take
midshots for my
images, as this is
what is seen on the
front cover of my
magazine of
inspiration ‘We Love
Pop’. I will use a
camera (Canon
IS500), tripod and
Adobe Photoshop
CS5.1 for editing the
photo, and removing
the background.
I will also use high key lighting to ensure the
images are well lit, ensuring there are no
shadows on my models’ face. I will ask my
models to wear appropriate clothing which
will appeal to my target audience, including
bright colours, and girly clothes.
I will use Emma Walker as I feel that she fits the
stereotype for my magazine genre. She could
also be viewed as the stereotypical pop music
artist.

Permission Needed
Contact needed to be
made
Evidence of this?
When taking the
photos for my
magazine, I will
require the
permission of the
models, to make
sure it is okay to
take and use the
pictures of them in
my magazine, as
well as permission
to take photos
around school.
Potential
Hazards/Risks
Location specific
Any wires lying
around will need to
be cleared around
school so they are
no longer a hazard.
As I am taking my
pictures outside, I
will need to take
them on a nice day,
when it is not
raining and there is
no ice or puddles
that my models
could slip in, and
potentially harm
themselves.
I will also need to ensure there are no bags or
coats that people could trip on. I will also make
sure that there are no nails or potentially
harmful objects in the wall, so that my models
will not get injured.
