The needs of cycling tourists
Our first thought about cycling tourism is that cycling tourism has no negative impact on the environment because cycling is a low carbon mode of transport. And it`s true if speak about getting around in a destination
Our first thought about cycling tourism is that cycling tourism has no negative impact on the environment because cycling is a low carbon mode of transport. And it`s true if speak about getting around in a destination. In Germany 35% of the general holidays use car in case of cycling holiday, and only 20% in case of cycling holiday, the rate is 4% contra 1% in case of air / flights to get to the destination

And it`s true if speak about getting around in a destination. Cycling tourism also offer enormous business opportunities in the south of Europe as the map shows. Not only sun, sand and sea, but also rural areas, autumn and winter activities by bike…

According to a recent study, cycling tourism employs over 17,000 people in Spain. The same study refers that if we double the use of the bicycle (in Spain it is easy since the use of the bicycle is low), the number of jobs in the cycling tourism sector in Spain would reach almost 30.000 employments by 2020
Advantages of cycling tourism: 1) Less dependence of sun, sand and se / 2) cycling tourists stay longer and spend more money / 3) Cycling is possible in Spain in low and medium season / 4) European money available to fund cycling tourism projects
