Fiestas Patrias del Perú: Celebraciones de la Independencia
1. FIESTAS PATRIAS
Las Fiestas Patrias del Perú son las celebraciones nacionales anuales que celebran
la Independencia del Perú después del dominio deEspaña.Constan oficialmente de dos días:
El 28 de julio, en conmemoración a la declaratoria de Independencia en Lima por parte de
don José de San Martín (el acta se firmó el 15 de julio de 1821).
El 29 de julio, en honor a las Fuerzas Armadas de la República del Perú y a la Policía Nacional
del Perú.
Las celebraciones de Fiestas Patrias coinciden con la semana de vacaciones por parte de

las escuelas y algunas instituciones. Junto a laNavidad, las Fiestas Patrias significan la mayor y
principal celebración del año para los peruanos y es usual que los comercios generen tantas
ganancias como en el mes de diciembre.
El turismo interno y externo crece especialmente en estas fiestas ya que con los feriados, la gente
puede visitar diversas zonas del Perú y ser parte de estas celebraciones. Cabe destacar que
durante el siglo XIX, las fechas conmemorativas más importantes eran el 28 de julio (Declaración
de la Independencia), el 9 de diciembre (Batalla de Ayacucho) y la fecha de cambio de mando
presidencial.
EL DIA 28 JULIO
El 28 de julio de todos los años, se conmemora el día en que el Perú obtuvo su Independencia. El
libertador José de San Martín proclamó la Independencia del Perú en esta fecha. El amanecer del
28 es saludado con una salva de veintiún cañonazos, como preámbulo de la ceremonia del
izamiento de la bandera.
2. Native holidays in Peru
The Native Holidays of Peru are the national annual celebrations that celebrate the Independence

absence, the people can visit diverse zones of Peru and be a part of these celebrations. It is
necessary to emphasize that during the 19th century, the most important commemorative dates
were a July 28 (Declaration of the Independence), December 9 (Ayacucho's Battle) and the date of
change of presidential control
ON THE 28TH JULY
On July 28 of every year, it is commemorated the day in which Peru obtained his Independence.
The liberator Jose of St Martin proclaimed the Independence of Peru in this date. The dawn of 28 is
greeted by a volley of twenty-one cannon-shots, as preamble of the ceremony of the hoisting of the
flag.
