June Speaker: Caroline McClure from Volunteering Ireland will be in to chat about volunteering on
Monday 17th
June please come along if you are interested in volunteering.
Fishing Trip
The fishing group are meeting in Belgrave Square on the 4th
of June 2013 at 2.00pm to learn how to use the
fishing equipment. The trip will be at a later date when the fishing training has finished.
Upcoming Courses
Taking Control Programme – Susan McFeely from Shine has offered Gateway Members a ‘Taking Control
Programme’ – It’s similar to WRAP but shorter and will be two afternoons 12th
and 19th
of June from 3.00pm
to 5.30 pm.
This is a free course and will consist of the following:-
• Module 1. Self Esteem and Positivity.
• Module 2. My Coping Skills.
• Module 3. Changing the weather in my Head. Signposting my supports and paths to my new life.
• Module 4. Being Resilient. Taking Control.
If you are interested give your name to Mary Barnes.
Personal Development Course: There will be a 20 week personal development course starting in July – this
will be a 20 week course including skills in confidence building and assertiveness. This course will be 2
afternoons a week for 20 weeks and will cost €40.00, if you are interested in this let Mary Barnes know and
there will be an information session on Friday the 21st
of June at 3pm.
WRAP – Gateway will be running a (WRAP) Wellness Recovery Action Plan in September – if you are
interested in doing this course or finding out if a WRAP course is for you speak to Ali or Tom in drop-in.
Minutes of the Members Meeting of the Gateway Project 13th
May 2013

1. Welcome: Mary Q chaired the meeting and welcomed all members.
2. Minutes: The minutes of the members meeting from April were read and passed.
3. Matters arising: The fishing trip to go ahead as planned on the 4th June
4. Members’ Hour - Martha proposed the idea to give members the opportunity to share what they are
interested in and a quick way to get members to lead. 5 for and 1 Against - It was decided to have it
every Monday expect the last Monday of the month from 2.30 -3.30
5. New Member Form - Look at form and possibility of new sheet. Everyone happy with rights and
responsibilities. Martha said she will bring back next month and make it more presentable
6. Gateway opened a third day - don’t have enough resources at present - to revisit at a future date
7. Upcoming dates - Creative writing end of term gathering Friday 31st
May 2013, all Gateway Members
