ACADEMIC BANNERS
GETTING BANNERS
I asked 1SR students to design a banner that would be used to reward the
students when they achieve different goals.
The purpose is to motive students and let them be part of the evaluation
process. The students should get all the banners, including the most valuable
one.
EVALUATION PROCESS
I will use four different tools in the evaluation process.
1. Student notebook
2. Exams
3. Projects
4. Participation in class
Students will be evaluated from 1 to 10 points in each term.
1. Student notebook can get up to 2 points. There are two banners
ready, one if the student gets 1 point and another for the two points.
2. Exams: they will have 6 questions (4 in Spanish and 2 in English) and 1
point for each one. There is one banner.
3. Projects can get 1 point. At least one per term. There is only one
banner.
4. Participations: students can get 1 point when they participate
correcting the activities and revising concepts.
a. 1+: for a participation reading and answering the exercise. (1
banner).
b. 5+: for a good answer when revising concept of the unit. (1
banner).
c. 10+: 1point (One banner).
d. A negative mark when a student is absent and we have been
doing exercises in class. We will also have a banner for him/her. A
justification will cancel this mark. Two banners.

The following banners have been designed by 1SR students to reward the students when doing
a good job.
You will get this first banner once you have got the
rest of them. This is the most valuable banner.
