Miquel Pueyo París (Lleida, 1957) is doctor in Catalan Philology for the University of Barcelona. Since 1979, he has been professor of Sociolinguistics and Language Policy in the University of Lleida, where he was also vice-dean of Audiovisual Communication in the Faculty of Arts, between 2001 and 2004. From 1986 to 1988, he led the reform of the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs, a public cultural institution. He has published a dozen books (two of them, awarded the essay prizes “Xarxes” and “Rovira i Virgili”) and several scientific articles related to his academic activity, to non-verbal language and to the connection between processes of modernization and the expansion of state languages i...
