Bedroom, (dormitorio). Washing-machine, (lavadora). Sunrise (salida del sol)
computer designer (diseñador de computadoras) . Reading material (material
de lectura). Front door (puerta de entrada)
The elements composing a compound noun may be almost any part of speech.

 Adjective + nouns (Adjetivo+ nombre).
Flammable gas (gas inflamable), hothouse (invernadero).
 Noun + Noun (nombre + nombre).
Bedroom (dormitorio), power plant (planta eléctrica).
 Pronoun + Noun (Pronombre nombre).
He-elephant, (elefante macho).
 Verb + Noun (Verbo+ nombre).
Washing-machine, (lavadora). , workpiece (pieza de trabajo).
 Noun+ verb (nombre + verbo)
Sound change (cambio de sonido).
 Present participle + noun (presente participio +nombre) .
Drinking wáter (agua potable) .
 Noun + presente participle (nombre + presente participio).

El plural de las palabras compuestas puede conformarse:
Use three rules
 -Añadiendo una “s”.
Es el caso más usual: boyfriends, girlfriends, (novios, novias). Bedroom,
bedrooms (Dormitorio-s) Armchair, armchairs (Sillón-es) Overcoat,
overcoats (Abrigo-s)

2.  -Si se trata de nombres seguidos de partícula, se añade la “s” sólo al
nombre:
Son –in –law (suegro) , Sons-in-law, (yernos). Father in law (Suegro)
Fathers in law (Suegros).
 En los nombres compuestos con los sustantivos man y woman, los dos
sustantivos toman el plural:
Man-servant (criado) Men-servants (Criados)
Men doctors, women doctors, (doctores, doctoras), man servent (criado),
men servants. (Sirvientes hombres).
