Of all the surgical methods, breast augmentation is a key surgery as it involves some tedious procedures. It refers to
implants with mammoplasty procedures. It is basically a process in which the shape and size of the breast is altered.
Usually both are changed on a higher side. There are many reasons for undergoing such a surgery. Once reason
includes getting attractive and another is problem of small breasts. Also if they sag, then too the patient can have
implants.
The breast augmentation techniques in Belgium include Post mastectomy surgical reconstruction and post
mastectomy fat graft reconstruction.
In surgical reconstruction, a foreign body is introduced in the breasts. The surgery is done under anaesthesia where in
the chest muscles are cut and scars are produced. The foreign object could be a flap that is made of muscles and fat.
During fat graft reconstruction, the breast is constructed by smearing external tissues. The enlarged one created after
the surgery has a natural look and feel. The process usually takes around three to four months to complete. The extra fat
is taken from other areas of the patient’s body like thighs, abdomen and hips. The process is done through liposuction.
During breast cancer an implant surgery is performed too. This surgery also comprise of fat grafting method listed
above. Post the first method of fat grafting; a breast mound is seeded on the breast. After couple of weeks, when the
mound expands, the patient is called back to undergo the fat grafting session again for reconstructing the breasts.
Seeing the above advances through medical procedures in medical technology, the overseas cosmetic surgery
treatments are being used invariably by a number of people especially for breast implants.
