Una cláusula adverbial cumple la función de un adverbio y contiene un
sujeto y un verbo. Es una cláusula dependiente, lo cuál significa que debe
estar conectada a una cláusula independiente.
I visit my uncle when I go to Monterrey.

Las cláusulas adverbiales pueden indicar TIEMPO, CAUSA-EFECTO,
CONDICIÓN, CONTRASTE.
TIEMPO:
He seems happy when he helps people.

CAUSA-EFECTO:
He helps people because he loves to do it.
•
CONDICIÓN:
He feels happy if he helps people.
•
CONTRASTE:
Even though it was hard, he helped them.
