3. A. Filing the FAFSA Apply for a Federal Student Aid PIN (Personal Identification Number) at www.pin.ed.gov Follow the instructions to create your own PIN number. If you previously applied for a PIN number but cannot remember or locate it, please use the link on the left menu bar “Request a Duplicate PIN.”

5. A. Filing the FAFSA Complete items requested and continue to follow directions. You will need your 2010 tax documents (Federal 1040). The side bar indicates if the information requested is for the student, parent or spouse.
6. A. Filing the FAFSA Choose “Start 2011-2012 FAFSA.” Concordia’s school code is 002541.
7. A. Filing the FAFSA Create your password using the “Help and Hints” on the right side bar. Continue as instructed. Please use the hints and tips as needed to answer any questions. If you have questions that are not answered by these helps, see the “Browse Help” and “Contact Us” buttons.
8. A. Filing the FAFSA E-sign your FAFSA. A few days after filing, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) with your information. Check it to make sure all information is correct. Concordia will receive your FAFSA results in 1 to 2 weeks. Your FAFSA may be chosen for a process called Verification. If this happens additional information will be needed from you. Verification takes place in approximately 1 of 3 FAFSAs so don’t be alarmed if we contact you for more information. Items needed would include copies of tax documents, W-2s, etc.
9. B. Financial Aid Application Complete the Concordia University Financial Aid Application at www.cune.edu/faf-gradadult. After you click SUBMIT, we receive an email with your information. Please complete all boxes.
10. C. Financial Aid Awards When we have received your FAFSA and the Financial Aid Application (A & B above), we will put together your Financial Aid Awards. They will consist of Federal Stafford Loans, and if a qualifying DCP student, a Pell Grant. Beginning with the 11-12 academic year, awards will be accepted online. You will be notified via your cune.org email account when your awards are ready to view and accept.
11. D. Online Loan ‘paperwork’ Loan funds cannot be released until a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling are completed. Go to www.studentloans.gov to complete both requirements. Sign in using your FAFSA PIN.
12. D. Online Loan ‘paperwork’ To complete Master Promissory Note (MPN), click on the link. You should complete the “Subsidized/ Unsubsidized” MPN. Make sure to e-sign. For the Entrance Counseling, click on the link and follow the instructions.
13. E. Loan Disbursements and Refunds Loan disbursements are scheduled each term in approximately the third week after a student begins a class. Refunds of excess loan money will be sent to a student within 14 days after Concordia receives the funds. Direct deposit may be set up.
