5. Helpful Definitions
Wall: used to share assignments and ask questions where
everyone can add their feedback.
Group Accessibility: control the access to the class as: open,
closed, or restricted. Go onto the settings gear icon to control
your class accessibility.
Like: feature added onto photos, post, and blogs to show one’s
approval of the post.
Privacy: determines how the content of the group is to be
shared with the rest of your students. Set privacy to where anyone or just
a few students can see the class’s content. Go the settings gear icon to
set privacy.
Notes: used to express one’s contribution on a subject when the
text is more than 1000 characters long.
Events: shows what upcoming assignments and tests are
coming up. Add new events such as field trips and assignment
due dates to share with students.
6. Trouble Shooting
What types of files can I upload?
Instructors and Students can share .jpg, .docx, .pptx, .exlx.
► How can I share PDF files?
Unfortunately at this time Facebook does not allow the
uploads of .PDF files. However, you can create or upload
PDF files in UAA’s Google Docs and share the link in
Facebook.
► How can I chat with students using a webcam?
First, make sure you and your students have webcams.
Then, click on the student’s icons in the chat window and
click on the video camera icon.
► How will students access the class?
UAA’s councilors will grant the student access to your class
after it has been approved.
