1. Delta Mu Delta
Madonna University
Mission Statement: is a business honor society that recognizes and
encourages academic excellence of students at qualifying colleges and
universities to create a DMD community that fosters the well-being of its
individual members and the business community through life-time
membership
2. Purpose of Delta Mu Delta
• to promote higher scholarship in
education for business
• to recognize and reward scholastic
attainment in business subjects
4. Membership Requirements
• completion of at least half the work for your
required degree
• cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better (undergrad)
– 3.6 GPA required for graduate students
• membership in the top 20% of your class
• approval by the Chair or Dean of the
Department of Business or Registrar
5. History
• Delta Mu Delta was founded by the Dean from Harvard University
and four professors from Yale University and New York University
in November, 1913.
• In 1963 DMD was admitted to membership in the Association of
College Honor Societies
• In 1992 the Society established an affiliation with the Accreditation
Council for Business Schools and Programs
• Delta Mu Delta is the International Honor Society for business
programs accredited by ACBSP at the baccalaureate, graduate and
doctoral levels.

• Symbolizes the key which unlocks the

• Includes the Greek initials of the Society
