An infographic is a graphic visual representation of information that turns boring information into something with a greater visual
impact. It’s a visual version of information, related to one topic and a new way to catch people’s attention.
Initial considerations to prepare an Infographic
Firstly, you need to define a hot keyword and select several main words related to the subject. In other words, choose a group of
words that transmit your main idea.
Secondly, visit social networks, blogs and forums of the area so you could start having some ideas on how to explain what you want
to share.
Thirdly, try to talk or show something that everyone is talking about. Remind that search engines don’t read images, thus you will
need to choose well the words people will search for.
Define your main message and use your hot keyword as a title. Find pictures, stats and quotes related to your theme, you can also
use screenshots or photos. Make sure that you know the story you want to tell.

Elements to include
 Include statistics to make your information seem more credible;
 Use bullet points to an easy reading;
 Use elements related to the theme;
 Don’t include images with more than 735 pixels;
 Make a colour scheme (preferably use only four colours);
 Create little text blocks;
 Discover the perfect clearance between the elements, for instance between the text and figures;
 Don’t use serif font;
 Create a hierarchy size;
 Put, on the footer, a link to your own page.
Don’t forget!
Make sure your infographic answers the following questions: who, what, where, when, why and how?
And remember, people rush to share something that looks unique and original. Don’t make your infographic look the same as
someone else’s, put a “twist” on that.
