Name and Origin
Procedure of Preparation:
-The plant material extracted separately in hot
distilled water which is boiled for 1 hour in water
bath. ( Infusion method )
- The extract was filtered and mixed together .
- Add honey which acts as sweetner
and viscosity enhancer along
with its pharmacological activity as an
expectorant.
Pharmacological uses
1-) Black seed:
Oil: Thymoquinone
2-) Thyme:
Volatile oils : Thymol- carvacrol – linalool
3-) Olive leaves:
Phenolic compounds such as oleuropein,
hydroxytyrosol, verbascoside, apigenin-7-O-
glucoside, and luteolin-7-O-glucoside and also
triterpenoids such as maslinic, ursolic, and
oleanolic acids.
Active constituents of plant
- Treatment of cough episodes during COVID-
19 infections.
- Treatment of dry cough as well as wet cough .
Indications of the product
1- ) For children:
One teaspoonful 3 times daily or as needed.
2- ) For adults:
One tablespoonful 3 to 4 times daily or as
needed.
Dose of the product
1-) Black seed:
Antiviral and immunomodulatory activities, anti-
inflammatory as :
-It reduces the level of pro-inflammatory mediators
including, IL-2,6 and 12 while enhancing IFN-γ.
- It increases the serum levels of IgG1 and IgG2a,
and improves pulmonary function tests in restrictive
respiratory disorders.
-It also has antioxidant, antimicrobial, neuro-
protective and reno-protective properties.
2-) Thyme :
-Expectorant, spasmolytic, secretolytic,
antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and
immunomodulatory agent.
-When administered orally, thyme oil is largely
eliminated by the pulmonary alveoli. Hence,
concentrated drug effects occur at the site of disease.
3-) Olive leaves:
- Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic,
immunomodulatory, and antithrombotic activities
which are of great benefit in the control of associated
inflammatory cytokine storm and disseminated
intravascular coagulation in COVID-19 patients.
Procedure of preparation
Contents of preparation :
Thyme herb 100 gm.
Black seed 100 gm.
Olive leaves 100 gm.
Honey 200 ml.
Distilled water.

-Nausea, vomiting and bloating.
-Lower blood pressure and hypoglycemia.
-Allergy to thyme oil is also common, especially
in people sensitive to plants in the lamiaceaee
family (including oregano, lavender, and sage).
An allergy can manifest with diarrhea, nausea,
and vomiting when consumed.
Side effects of the products
1-) Hypotensive patient.
2-) People sensitive to plants in the Lamiaceae
family (including oregano, lavender, and sage).
3-) Pregnancy and lactation : Information
regarding safety and efficacy during pregnancy
and lactation is lacking.
