1. Introduction -:
Agriculture is the backbone of India. In India, farmers are facing serious
challenge like insufficient agricultural labour not only in highest working seasons but also in normal
time. To design and analysis the crop cutting Machine which is helpful to the farmers to small farm.
It will reduce the cost and time of crop cutting in field. It will help to increase economical standard in
Indian agriculture system. This machine has the capability and the economic value for fulfilling the
needs of farmers having small land holdings.
This machine is cost effective and easy to maintain and repair for the farmers. The machine model
is designed based on the demand for a compact and economical reaper. This demand is taken into
consideration by consulting farmers in person, for their problems and requirements.
The mission is to create a portable, user-friendly and low cost mini harvester reduce the labour
required to cut crops.
2.Problem Statement -:
 Manual labour takes time and is not effective as they can work for 3-4 hours at a
stretch.
 Even if the land holding is small, it takes two or three days to completely harvest the
crop manually.
 High cost of machines and maintenance, nonavailability of appropriate agricultural
machines and equipment that cater to and suit the requirements of small scale
farms.
 In rural areas one acre soya bean field is cut by 10-20 labors and each labor charges
at least 300 per head.
 The farmers who are using harvester for cutting crops may charge around RS 700
averagely.
 The cost of normal crop harvesting machine in market is around 45000. but we are
going to make it in less cost.
3. Aim of the work -:
 As being stated in the statement of the problem in order to develop the product which solve
the specified problem the following basic product design specification should be considered.
The need to make a machine which should perform the following operations -:
 Easy harvesting of grains
 Less manual Efforts
 Low cost and less maintenance
 Our main focus is that machine should be functional, reliable, feasible, affordable.
 sub-objectives, and the relationship between them. A design has to start from some basic
information when confronted with the design task. Sources of the information the data
gathered and analysed from customer or an invention proposition.
 The crop reaper is used to reap the crop like Soyabin, wheat and rice type of crops. The
crop reaper has four wheels to move and there is an petrol engine to power the whole
device.
 The power from the petrol engine transfer to the v- belt drive and it goes to the centre shaft.
 There is a bevel gear attached to the central shaft transfer power to perpendicular direction.
 There will be a belt drive system attached to the chain drive assembly and there are blades
to reap the crop properly. The rotary motion of the belt drive helps to move the scotch yoke
mechanism to sideway along with it the reaper blade also move to cut the crops.
 The completion of harvesting marks the end of the growing season, or the growing cycle for
a particular crop, and the social importance of this event makes it the focus of seasonal
celebrations such as harvest festivals, found in many religions.
 Reaping is usually distinguished from mowing, which uses similar implementation, but is
the traditional term for cutting grass for hay, rather than reaping cereals.
4.Working Principle -:
 This machine consists of two mechanisms one is a Crank and Slotted Lever
Mechanism for reciprocation of cutter blade over stationary cutter blade and this
mechanism is used to convert rotary motion into linear motion.
 This machine is powered by 7.5HP, 3200 rpm 2 stroke petrol engine. By using V-Belt
power is transmitted to bevel gear box. Bevel gear box is used to change direction of
drive by 90 degree in the gear system.
 One end of this output shaft is connected to Crank and slotted lever Mechanism which
converts rotary motion of shaft into reciprocating motion of cutter blade. Reciprocating
cutter blade slides over fixed blade and creates scissoring action.

 Time of harvesting is less as compared to manual harvesting.
 By using this machine the problem of labour crises is reduced.
 Efficient work is done by using this machine
7. Conclusion:-
 The Combined reaper and colleting machine is built to be portable and efficient to cut the
crops. The machine was tested on a ground to check its cutting capability and efficiency.
 The harvesters available in market are applicable for large farms, so this can be the best
machine for the farmers with small land. The success of this machine depends on how the
farmers obtain this machine as their ally.
 There are some changes that use to be done on the machine and a final product is to be
taken out for sell.
 From this work the following completion were peaked for the work to be in lacer area without
a multi crop cutter or manually, whereas by using a multi crop cutter we can entire the same
work in the same area (1acer) with only one labor. The same throughout the day, as man get
constrained, whereas a machine cannot.

It will help to increase economical standard in Indian agriculture system. This machine has the capability and the economic value for fulfilling the needs of farmers having small land holdings. This machine is cost effective and easy to maintain and repair for the farmers. The machine model is designed based on the demand for a compact and economical reaper. This demand is taken into consideration by consulting farmers in person, for their problems and requirements. The mission is to create a portable, user-friendly and low cost mini harvester reduce the labour required to cut crops.
  • 3. 2.Problem Statement -:  Manual labour takes time and is not effective as they can work for 3-4 hours at a stretch.  Even if the land holding is small, it takes two or three days to completely harvest the crop manually.  High cost of machines and maintenance, nonavailability of appropriate agricultural machines and equipment that cater to and suit the requirements of small scale farms.  In rural areas one acre soya bean field is cut by 10-20 labors and each labor charges at least 300 per head.  The farmers who are using harvester for cutting crops may charge around RS 700 averagely.  The cost of normal crop harvesting machine in market is around 45000. but we are going to make it in less cost.

Aim of the work -:  As being stated in the statement of the problem in order to develop the product which solve the specified problem the following basic product design specification should be considered. The need to make a machine which should perform the following operations -:  Easy harvesting of grains  Less manual Efforts  Low cost and less maintenance  Our main focus is that machine should be functional, reliable, feasible, affordable.  sub-objectives, and the relationship between them. A design has to start from some basic information when confronted with the design task. Sources of the information the data gathered and analysed from customer or an invention proposition.
  • 5.  The crop reaper is used to reap the crop like Soyabin, wheat and rice type of crops. The crop reaper has four wheels to move and there is an petrol engine to power the whole device.  The power from the petrol engine transfer to the v- belt drive and it goes to the centre shaft.  There is a bevel gear attached to the central shaft transfer power to perpendicular direction.  There will be a belt drive system attached to the chain drive assembly and there are blades to reap the crop properly. The rotary motion of the belt drive helps to move the scotch yoke mechanism to sideway along with it the reaper blade also move to cut the crops.  The completion of harvesting marks the end of the growing season, or the growing cycle for a particular crop, and the social importance of this event makes it the focus of seasonal celebrations such as harvest festivals, found in many religions.  Reaping is usually distinguished from mowing, which uses similar implementation, but is the traditional term for cutting grass for hay, rather than reaping cereals. 4.Working Principle -:
  • 6.  This machine consists of two mechanisms one is a Crank and Slotted Lever Mechanism for reciprocation of cutter blade over stationary cutter blade and this mechanism is used to convert rotary motion into linear motion.  This machine is powered by 7.5HP, 3200 rpm 2 stroke petrol engine. By using V-Belt power is transmitted to bevel gear box. Bevel gear box is used to change direction of drive by 90 degree in the gear system.  One end of this output shaft is connected to Crank and slotted lever Mechanism which converts rotary motion of shaft into reciprocating motion of cutter blade. Reciprocating cutter blade slides over fixed blade and creates scissoring action. 5. Methodology -:
  • 7. 6. Expected Outcomes -:  Time of harvesting is less as compared to manual harvesting.  By using this machine the problem of labour crises is reduced.  Efficient work is done by using this machine
  • 8. 7. Conclusion:-  The Combined reaper and colleting machine is built to be portable and efficient to cut the crops. The machine was tested on a ground to check its cutting capability and efficiency.  The harvesters available in market are applicable for large farms, so this can be the best machine for the farmers with small land. The success of this machine depends on how the farmers obtain this machine as their ally.  There are some changes that use to be done on the machine and a final product is to be taken out for sell.  From this work the following completion were peaked for the work to be in lacer area without a multi crop cutter or manually, whereas by using a multi crop cutter we can entire the same work in the same area (1acer) with only one labor. The same throughout the day, as man get constrained, whereas a machine cannot.
