Rebecca and Jacob tricked Isaac into giving Jacob the birthright blessing meant for Esau by disguising Jacob with goat skins to feel like Esau's hairy skin. Jacob received Isaac's blessing for prosperity from heaven and land instead of Esau after Esau left to hunt. When Esau returned and learned what happened, Jacob fled in fear of Esau's fury over losing his birthright blessing.

6. One day, when Aisav was out hunting, Rivka
and Yaakov made a plan that Yaakov would
cover his hands and neck with goat skin so
that he would feel like Aisav.
Then they would prepare a small dish to give
to Yitzchak. Then Yitzchak would think that
Yaakov was Aisav.

7. As planned, Yaakov received his father’s blessing for
the dew of the heaven, the fat of the land, and ruling
over his brother.
When Aisav returned home, all Yitzchak could do for
him was predict that he would live by his sword and
when Yaakov falls, he will forfeit his power over to
his brother.
