www.bizlatinhub.com
Get the ball rolling…
-You need to draft a document in which you state and grant
the full faculties to one of the attorneys in order to
incorporate the company in Colombia.
-This means official presentations before national
authorities, drafting, filing, etc.
-If you are outside the country, you can sign the documents
in an approved location (embassy or consulate).
-You will also have to carry out a search for your company
name and get it officially approved.

• Companies in Colombia are created through bylaws.
•For this, you should fill the Corporation Survey in order
to establish all the particularities that you want to be
stated in the bylaws. These include name of company,
social objects, amount of capital, administration, legal
representation, share and acquisition of shares, powers
and limitations etc.
9. STEP 4- Bylaws
Define what your company will do…
• Depending on the type of company you want to create,
the elaboration of the bylaws can be completed by deed
or a private document.

10. STEP 5 - Registration
Just a formality…
-As a formalization in Colombia, all the corporations need
to be registered before the Chamber of Commerce.
-This entity has a fee for corporations which depends on
the amount of money you declare as share capital.
-The Chamber of Commerce takes 24 hours to check all
the information (legal representative, social purpose, etc.)

11. STEP 6- Tax ID Number
It is quicker than it sounds..
•Tax ID: This is a number issued by the Direction of
Taxes and Customs of Colombia (DIAN) that gives you
an identification for tax paying purposes.
•The Chamber of Commerce will share your information
with DIAN; The DIAN can issue the Tax ID to the
company immediately, saving you time and money.
•However, sometimes the Chamber of Commerce forgets
this step so you need to go personally to the DIAN to get
the Tax ID.
