3. As part of the Top 30 Walks to End Alzheimer’s
nationwide, the upcoming Kansas City Walk
plays a major role in the Alzheimer Association’s
ongoing efforts to support research and provide
clinical resources and assistance to patients. To
be held at Overland Park on Oct. 5, the 2014
Kansas City Alzheimer’s Walk is one of the
area’s biggest events, attracting over 120
volunteers and hundreds of walkers in a fight
against the nation’s sixth-leading cause of
death.

4. In addition to spreading informational
materials about the disease and its
prevalence, the event serves to support
patients and their caregivers through local
programs and services.
