housing authority (KCHA) and
an energy services company
(Johnson Controls) to install en-
ergy and water saving products.

KCHA selects the products and

2. EPIC Products and Useful Energy/Water Saving Tips
Products installed will vary by property. Please ask your Property Manager if you are unsure which products will be installed in your home.
Water
 Toilets
 Showerheads
 Faucet aerators
Saves water and works better!  Report leaks to maintenance
 Take 5 minute showers
 Turn water off when brushing teeth
and shaving
Ventilation
 Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV)
systems
 Bathroom exhaust fans
Improves air quality and reduces risk of
mildew!
 Report dirty filters or moisture issues
to maintenance
 Keep fan settings as programmed to
properly ventilate your home
Lighting
 Interior and exterior LED lighting
Brighter light… and still saves energy!  Replace incandescent bulbs with LEDs
 Turn lights off when leaving rooms
 Open curtains to allow sunlight into
your home
Ductless Heat Pumps (DHPs)
 Heating and cooling system uses less
electricity than baseboard heaters or
window air conditioners.
Saves energy and improves air quality!  Clean filter every 3 months
