By Yann Casamajou technical. product line manager Ixblue With DP-PHINS, iXBlue has expanded the functionality of its industry-leading PHINS inertial navigation system (INS). The new DP-PHINS is designed to interface with any third-party acoustic positioning equipment to provide INS-enhanced acoustic data input to marine dynamic positioning (DP) systems. Additionally DP-PHINS can also take data from a range of other sensors, some not normally associated with DP, such as Doppler velocity logs (DVL), for use in maintaining vessel position. Using DP-PHINS with INS produces positioning data that is smoother, more accurate and is updated at a higher rate. Consequently, station-keeping performance is significantly improved, vessels use less fuel, and wear and tear on the DP system components is reduced. The system has been fully qualified at sea with industry leaders operating in West Africa O&G development field.

This was my speech for the Emerging Communications Conference 2010. Speech Description: We are now entering into an era of liquid interfaces, where buttons can be downloaded at will, and software flies through the air. Phones have been untethered from their cords and are free to colonize our pockets. They cry, and we must pick them up. They get hungry, and we must plug them in. We increasingly live on interfaces, and it is their quality and design which increases our happiness and our frustration. The best interfaces compress the time and space it takes to absorb relevant information, and the worst cause us car accidents, lost revenue, and communication failures. We are tool using creatures. Prosthetics touch almost every part of our lives. Until recently, humans have used their hands and bodies to interface with objects. Early interfaces were solid and tactile. Now, the interface can be anywhere. This speech will discuss how the field of anthropology can be applied to interface design, and how future interfaces, such as the ones employed by augmented reality, will change the way we act, feel and communicate with one another. Topics will include non-places, time and space compression, privacy, user flow, supermodernity, wearable computing, work and play, gaming, history and prosthetic culture. She utilizes qualitative/quantitative analysis and ethnographic methods in order to determine future idea/business/organizational developments. She employs anthropological methods to study the interaction between humans and computers. She is currently working on research related to participation architecture. Similar a DGPS- and INS-Based Orthophotogrammetry on Micro UAV Platforms for Precision Farming Services

Available micro-sized Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in the civilian domain currently make use of common GPS receivers and do not address scenarios where high-precision positioning of the UAV is an inevitable requirement. However, for use cases such as creating orthophotos using direct georeferencing, an improved positioning needs to be developed. This article analyses the requirements for integrating Real Time Kinematic positioning into micro-sized UAVs. Additionally, it describes the data processing and synchronisation of the high-precision position data for a workflow of orthorectification of aerial imagery. Preliminary results are described for the use case of precision farming.

Monitoring behavior, numerous actions, or any such information is considered as surveillance and is done for information gathering, influencing, managing, or directing purposes. Citizens employ surveillance to safeguard their communities. Governments do this for the purposes of intelligence collection, including espionage, crime prevention, the defense of a method, a person, a group, or an item; or the investigation of criminal activity. Using an internet of things (IoT) rover, the area will be secured with better secrecy and efficiency instead of humans, will provide an additional safety step. In this paper, there is a discussion about an IoT rover for remote surveillance based around a Raspberry Pi microprocessor which will be able to monitor a closed/open space. This rover will allow safer survey operations and would help to reduce the risks involved with it.

Abstract The authors are designing the Quad-copter (UAVs) for Border Security with GUI System. Now-a-days the security issues of borders are daily increasing. Terrorist activities, firing, etc. at border are increasing day by day. Monitoring is becoming more difficult due to weather conditions, difficult areas which are out of reach etc and risk of losing life of soldier is also increasing. Designing an unmanned air vehicle which will monitor the border area, difficult location, movie shooting etc from long distance can be a good option. GPS is used to track the position of intruder or our troops or vehicles. This GPS data will be received by ARM9 processor and conveyed to observer or controller via zigbee. The Quad-copter is controlled by observer via the IR remote. Observer will fly the Quad-copter from a distance to area which has to be monitored. The Audio-Visual will be transmitted to PC via Wireless camera mounted on assembly. Also recording will be done.
