PSEB OVERALL PROCESS:
GIS AS-IS PROCESS
• A well equipped GIS will store and map a vast amount of information about the organisation’s
electric, gas, and water systems, as well as outside plants
GIS TO-BE PROCESS
• To mitigate the over-heating problem by removing the process of capturing data by the handheld
device
• PSEB should use a sensor, having a chip inbuilt in it, to capture the overall load loss
• Load loss correspondingly would lead to the heat generation and thus the chip inside the sensor
will get triggered
• No need of any manual intervention- once heat reached threshold, data will be sent to Centralise
data base
Objectives of the To Be process
ENERGY AUDIT AS-IS PROCESS
ENERGY AUDIT TO-BE PROCESS
• Manual visits to the customer’s place to carry out the audit process wont be needed thus reduce
cost to a huge extent
• Increase flexibility
• Each meter box (present at the customer’s location) will have an integrated chip inside it
• Chip would be programmed:
o To record the data at the starting of every month
o To collect data at the end of every month
o To calculate how much usage has happen and accordingly send that data to the central
databse
Objectives of the To Be process
LING/NEW CONNECTION/DISCONNECTION AS-IS PROCESS
The whole module is broken down into 3 parts– New Connection, Billing and Disconnection
BILLING/NEW CONNECTION/DISCONNECTION TO-BE PROCESS
• Database failures, slow billing process and loss of customer’s data lead to customer
dissatisfaction and increases maintenance cost.
• AS-IS process of PSEB’s billing system should be moved to cloud technology
• Removing physical database and implementing Cloud architecture will make system
much more flexible, robust, secure and reliable
• This would reduce the no. of customer complaint
