Researching
The Vampire Diaries
Diana Daniela Simon
When researching about
Vampire Diaries one of the main
features was this idea of ghosts
being present and a ‘ghost
world’ which in the series is
named the other side. The
ghost are previous character
which have died mostly positive
characters however you do get
the negative ones which
attempt to get to the human
side and they do this through a
witch. This is very similar to my
films narrative as my twins ge
into the human form through the
university students
Ghosts
Another factor that this
series show is the idea of
Vampires and this idea of
sucking blood. Therefore
this shows that blood can
still freak people out and
although the sub-genre of
this show is supernatural
drama show it can still
show that the idea of blood
(or bruising in my case)
can scare the audience.
Vampires
Another theme that this
show presents is the idea
of werewolves and
transformation, which is
also quite interesting.
Werewolves
Vampire Diaries
3.60 million viewers!!
In the first season
Discussion
Researching into this show made me understand the fact that
the supernatural subgenre is actually still a trend now as the
vampire diaries had over 3 million view in their first season.
Therefore comes to show that my idea of using ghosts (which is
also in Vampire Diaries) is a good one as it not only follows the
trend of films it also follows the trends of dramas that are out
there!
In addition It also gave me another ides to use within my trailer
and its basically to add blood to my Uni students therefore I
have decided to create scratches on on of them and reveal this
when revealing the bruises. I feel like this will not only make it
more dramatic but also make it much scary as it is a much
more hurtful incident than just bruises.
