that selfcare is beneficial to France...
There are still a few obstacles...
... but globally, the signs indicate to go ahead !
Why a manifest ?

GENERAL PRACTIONERS CONSIDER THAT

8. The health care system is in danger today ! It must evolve
The health care chain is saturated...
The development of selfcare :
a necessity in order to reorganise the health care
system...
8
Developing selfcare contributes to the creation of
a more positive and efficient model
9. • The French Public Health insurance has major financing issues.
The development of selfcare would contribute to maintain
sustainable, solidarity-based financing for severe and/or
long-term pathologies.
• Thanks to the development of selfcare
1.5 billion euros can be saved
in one year
... and ensure sustainable financing
by the French Public Health insurance

10. « My health, my choice »
The manifest
• Our purpose
Convince the authorities and political decision-makers of the potential of selfcare and
give them a “turnkey” solution to develop it.
• Our target
The major elections coming up in 2017 (election platforms currently under preparation)
are a unique opportunity to start changing things.
But it also provides a discussion and reflection rationale to interface with the sector’s
stakeholders : health care professionals, trade unions and professional federations,
think tanks, local officials, etc…
11. • Selfcare facts
• Selfcare : a strategic asset yet to be exploited to reorganise the health
care chain
• The economic challenge of self-medication in France : nearly 1.5 billion
euros in one year are at stake !
• How we can develop self-medication in France ?
Key elements of the manifest
11
12. How to develop self-medication in France ?
• Reform the financial coverage and develop the self-medication medicine
offer
• Associate health care professionals and patients to this new health care
