The overall objective of CountrySTAT
Zambia to improve access to National
Food and Agricultural Statistics.
These include relevant statistics on
Crop Production, Agricultural Trade,
Forestry Statistics, population, GDP,
etc.

2. CountrySTAT
• The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock is the Focal point institution for
CountrySTAT Zambia. The Central Statistical Office is also part of the
Secretariat.
• Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock and the Central Statistical Office are
responsible for collecting and compiling agricultural data and uploading it
to the CountrySTAT website
• Each country has the option of choosing to host the data on a local server
or use the FAO server. Zambia chose to use the FAO server as this
provides better reliability, especially in guaranteeing good download speed
for users

There are two focal point officers for CountrySTAT
one from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock
and the other from the Central Statistical Office.
