Rautomead Technology for Continuous Casting of Oxygen-free Copper, Copper-magnesium and Copper Conductor Alloys We offer copper continuous casting technology and a range of copper wire and cable continuous casting machines. The graphite crucible removes oxygen from cathode feedstock which minimises losses of the magnesium alloying element. Technology available for high magnesium content (0.4 – 0.6% Mg) alloy rod for use in the manufacture of overhead contact wires and cables for high speed trains, also for low magnesium content (0.1 -0.2% Mg) alloy rod for use in the manufacture of small diameter automotive data communication cables. Rautomead technology is being used by suppliers of CuMg catenary contact wires on European High Speed train lines. The massive construction project in progress in China to build 15,000 – 20,000km of new high speed train track features CuMg contact wires made from rods produced on Rautomead technology installed at cable factories around China.

Friction stir Processing (FSP) is a new innovative technology developed based on the principle of Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technique. In FSP, the ceramic particulates are reinforced into the base metal by adding it into the groove and Friction Stir Processing (FSP) is performed. In this study, the aluminum alloy 6061 is chosen as the base metal, alumina and graphite Nano powder as reinforcement. The process parameters such traverse speed of 64 mm/min and the tool rotational speed of 1060 rpm and tilt angle of 2deg were selected, The Friction Powder Processing was carried out on vertical milling machine. New parameters such as powder type and number of passes were involved and we also study the effect of heat treatment. The influence of FSP was checked using some tests such as the microstructure analysis that was carried out using optical microscope (OM) and the mechanical characteristics were analyzed using tensile test and hardness test. The micrograph results revealed that powder particulates were evenly distributed in the stir zone and reduction in grain size also observed; the reason for the grain size reduction was stirring action of the FPP tool’s pin. The tensile strength results showed a significant improvement in strength by a percent of 50% compared to base metal but when T6 heat treatment is applied, the tensile strength decreased.

Abstract: Casting is one of the oldest and mostly used production processes in industry. The traditional casting has certain disadvantages like poor strength due to hot tears, shrinkage and poor surface finish. The property of casting process mostly depends on the microstructure after solidification. Providing Mould vibration during casting is one of the latest techniques employed in order to get better structure in the solidified casting. Mould vibration during casting gives reduced amount of shrinkage, better morphology, surface finish, and less chances of hot tear. In this research work, the effect of mould vibration during solidification of Aluminum 356alloys for different values of wavelengths at a fixed pouring temperature investigated to understand the modification in microstructure and mechanical properties of casting. The Al356 casting has been prepared in a graphite mould with and without vibrations. The frequencies are varied from 0 Hz to 20 Hz during the casting process. A casting has been made without vibration as well to compare the results of castings with vibration. The experimental results showed significant grain refinement and remarkably improvement in compression strength and hardness of castings with mechanical mould vibration during solidification. The metal matrix composites offer a spectrum of advantages that are important for their selection and use as structural materials. A few such advantages are high strength, high elastic modulus, high toughness and impact resistance, low sensitivity to changes in temperature or thermal shock, high surface durability, low sensitivity to surface flaws, high electrical and thermal conductivity, minimum exposure to the potential problem of moisture absorption resulting in environmental degradation and improved machinability with conventional metal working equipment. The aim of the present study is to investigate the corrosion properties of Silicon Carbide particles (SiCp) reinforced Aluminum matrix composite after retrogression and re-aging heat treatment. Aluminum 7075 alloy with 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% SiCp were studied.

In conventional heat treatments or rolling schedules, the microstructure can be properly identified by its mean attributes. These parameters can properly predict the ductile-brittle (DB) transition temperatures measured by Charpy tests. However, if the austenite grain size distribution prior to transformation remains heterogeneous, after transformation, wider distributions of grain sizes will be obtained. In this context, the classical approaches do not properly predict the DB regime. This study analyzes the behavior of several ferrite-pearlite microstructures with different local heterogeneities. Grain size distributions, EBSD analysis identifying high angle misorientation boundaries and cleavage facet measurements were performed. These parameters have been incorporated in previous empirical expressions in order to quantify the contribution of these heterogeneities to the DB transition temperature.

This presentation provides an introduction into the basics of heat treating, primarily steel alloys. Heat treat processes for strengthening steel, or through hardening, using quench and temper, martempering, and austempering will be introduced and explained using the iron-carbon phase diagram and time-temperature-transformation diagrams to help understand the transformations occurring. Precipitation hardening techniques will be introduced, which apply to one group of stainless steels, aluminum alloys and high performance materials. Common surface hardening techniques such as case hardening and carburizing will also be discussed. Various processes for reducing strength, or softening steel, will be presented. Preheat and post-heat treatments applied during welding will also be briefly discussed.

This presentation will provide the non-metallurgist with a basic understanding of carbon and low alloy steels. First we'll describe the carbon and low alloy steels by examining the iron-carbon binary phase diagram and understand the basic microstructures as related to carbon content. We'll discuss the nomenclature of the different carbon and alloy steel groups. We will then examine how mechanical properties are influenced through carbon content, alloy additions and heat treatment. We will also discuss the differences in carbon and low alloy steels that are specified as structural steels and high strength-low alloy (HSLA) steels. Finally, we will address the issues of material selection, processing and finishing.

Our findings highlight the multifaceted nature of tax evasion in Pakistan, shedding light on both the motivations driving non-compliance and the barriers to ATL enrollment. From perceived inefficiencies in the tax system to cultural norms and trust deficits in governmental institutions, our research identifies a myriad of factors contributing to tax evasion behavior and reluctance to join ATL. Furthermore, our study offers valuable implications for policymakers, tax authorities, and business stakeholders seeking to enhance tax compliance and foster a culture of transparency and accountability in Pakistan's taxation landscape. By addressing the underlying drivers of tax evasion and promoting the benefits of ATL membership, policymakers can design more effective strategies to broaden the tax base and promote sustainable economic development. In conclusion, our research paper represents a comprehensive endeavor to deepen our understanding of tax compliance dynamics in Pakistan and elucidate the complexities surrounding ATL enrollment. By unraveling the intricacies of tax evasion behaviors and attitudes, we hope to contribute to informed policymaking and foster a culture of tax compliance and integrity in Pakistan's business and taxation environment.
