1. VisualizingGod
By Hannah JoyStacy
Everypersonof faithhas theirownunique interpretationof how theywouldvisualize GodinHisdivinity.
In our Christianwalk, interpretationsvaryonpersonal identificationof the trinityinrecognizingthe
Father,the Son andthe HolySpirit.Nomatterour effort,we will neverknow God’strue identityasHe
moldshimself toformandfulfill eachinterpretation. He doesthissothatwe may become evencloserto
Him,everfamiliarinourdailywalk.Humanityandthe churchhave createdgeneralized visualizationsin
the crucifix,creationismanddifferentdenominational theologies.If these threegeneralinterpretations
happentomatch your own- I am askingyouto momentarily setthemaside.Thinkof each
representationyouidentifywiththe trinitywhileconsideringyourownpersonal encounterswitheach
one.
How doyou see Jesus?WhenIthinkof him, my eyesimmediatelywellwithtearsof bittersweetsorrow.
Jesuswasman, but had a divine awarenessandpersonal discernmentof opposingconcepts suchas
truth andlies, hurtand healthandthe joyand sorrow we collectivelyencounterinourworldlylives.
Commonbelief istargetedtowardthe impactof whichthe life of Jesushadonhumanity;when
ultimately,itwashumanitythatleftJesuswiththe greaterimpact.
Now,picture yourexperience of the HolySpirit.Oftentakentoextremes, thisdivinityisthe resultof an
endlessdebateamongthe churchand itsdenominations. If youwere tobecome profoundlyimpacted
by a personor situationinyourwalk- wouldyouidentifyitsprofoundnessasbeingthe HolySpirit
incarnate- orwouldyouaccreditit as beingmere occasion?Traditionalisminthe churchdoesnot put
adequate worthonthe importance of becomingfilledwiththe powerof the HolySpiritandwould
rather prefertoleave the subjecttobe claimedbymore contemporarydenominationswhooften
misinterpretitaswell.Itisideal tobecome filledwiththe HolySpirit throughanoverwhelminglydivine
sensationof peace all throughoutthe bodywhileremainingaware andalertof one’ssurroundings.
At last, howdo youenvisionthe Father?Inmanyways,if we associate the term“Father”as beinga
goodand justman; we can easilyidentifythe correlation.Forthose withoutadecentfatherfigure, they
oftenvisualize Godasbeingmore authoritative anddemanding;whenreally,He achesforour
acknowledgementof Hislove,never-endingforgivenessandthe endlessprovisionsHe hasforus all.
Ultimately, every Christianhastheirown divine interpretation of itsworthandplace inour lives. The
abilityGodhas providedinhumanityhavingthe freedomof imaginationmakeseverypossible
interpretationaunique andunreserved,divinegift.
