public interest Clinic (CIPPIC) filed a complaint
alleging multiple aspects of Facebook’s
operation violated Canada’s main private-sector
Privacy law, the personal information

commonly known as PIPEDA. CIPPIC’s
allegations related to a wide range of issues,
including Requirements for a user to disclose a
date of Birth, the low default privacy settings,
Facebook advertising, The operation of
applications provided by third parties on the
site, uses of personal information other than
those originally agreed to, the collection of
personal information from sources other than
Facebook, the inability to fully delete accounts”.
