1. Your start date is based upon your availability.
Living arrangements can be organized by contacting Lisa Cooper, the
General Manager of Put-In-Bay Resort & Affiliates (contact information
below). It is best to send an email of when you would like to start. Please be
sure to give yourself enough time to get your belongings moved in before
your actual start date.

When packing for the Island, you should bring the following items:
Personal hygiene items: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, towels,
bathing soap, grooming items, deodorant, lotion, comb/brush, make-up,
and etc.
Blanket & Pillow
Laundry Detergent
Swimsuit
Clothes for all seasons, welcome to OHIO.
Entertainment: books, laptop, television, stereo system, board games,
workout clothes, personal movie collection, handheld devices, and etc.
*You are responsible for all your belongings and the company will not be held
accountable for any damages or stolen goods on the property.
Keep in mind that there is a store on the island if you were to run out of perishable
goods or would need to shop for groceries. The Island General Food Market is
located @ 410 Catawba Ave, Put-In-Bay, OH 43456, approximately 4 minutes from
Put-In-Bay Resort.
2. Uniform Requirement:
Polo or Shirt will be provided
Tan Khaki Slacks or shorts
Gym shoes or Sperry style shoes (close toed)
Do not come to work dressed accordingly:
Wrinkled clothes
Stained uniform
Torn shoes
Stench clothing
3. Attendance Requirements
- Attendance is mandatory on scheduled days to work.
- Punctuality is key - if your shift begins at 2:00 pm, please arrive by 1:50
pm
- If you are commuting from the mainland to the island, please be sure to
check the Miller schedule for departure time to Put-In-Bay Island and
be at the dock 30 minutes before the anticipated ferry leaves.
Missing the ferry is not a valid excuse for being late to
work, nor is the excuse traffic was congested.
- If you need to report an unscheduled absence - communicate with a
staff member at least 2 hours prior to your shift beginning
You will be written up, and possibly terminated, for a no
call, no show!
- Punch your own time card dressed in uniform at the start of your
assigned shift.
- All work must be on time clock & managers are the only ones that can
approve overtime.
4. General Rules
Employee parking on the island is based off availability and a first
come basis.
Professional conduct/behavior required
No smoking inside the facility - you may smoke only in
designated/marked areas
No eating at your workstation, you are advised to eat where guest
cannot see you.
No wandering out of work area without management approval
Phone answering procedures ( state name and business you are
representing)
No personal phone calls while clocked in unless consent has been
given by management
Abide by dress code & hygiene standards at all times
No gum chewing while at work
Switching shifts is not permitted without the approval of GM Lisa
Cooper
Training Program
5. Training on the job will consist of working alongside another staff member
and carefully listening to instructions given to you, and tasks presented to
you. If you do not understand the information that is being provided, be sure
to ask questions - there is no such thing as a dumb question, we are here to
help one another and make our guests’ stays as enjoyable as possible.
There will be random evaluations to ensure each new hire is developing the
necessary business skills and meeting performance expectations. Positive
evaluations may lead to promotional opportunities in the form of new roles
and additional compensation.
Final Token of Appreciation: You will receive a $10 voucher to eat on
the island at a restaurant of your choice as part of the new hire
experience.
