4. • Gripping the stick
• Finger positioning
• Thumbs up the side of the shaft
• Stick in the middle of the fingers
• Hand positioning
• Forearms Length between both hands
• Adjust the top hand based on preference
• No Control – too close
• No Power – too far apart
• Three Phases of the shooting motion:

9. • OBJECTIVE:
• To concentrate and reinforce the upper body shooting motion
• SET UP & EXECUTION:
• On one knee (shooting knee down) 5 yards away from goal or
net
• Begin in loaded position (Hold for one count)
• Violent motion with upper body
• Push / Pull motion
• Finishing position

11. • OBJECTIVE:
• To develop the muscle memory from the loaded position to the
finishing position
• Reinforcing correct shooting motion
• Set Up & Execution:
• 5 Yards from Tarp/Net
• Hips square to the tarp
• Shoulders/Chest toward the sideline
• Hold the ball in a loaded position for 1 sec
• Inside hip pulls the outside hip
• Snap the top hand/pulls bottom hand to the elbow
• Finish top hand to the opposite pocket
• Shooting foot finish through the to target

13. • Receiving the ball in a loaded position (Stepping to the
feeder)
• Footwork: STEP – HOP – STEP Shot
• Cross over step option to open the hips (Advanced)
• Weight transfer: Back foot to front foot
• Hip Rotation – Outside to inside
• Finish and follow through (Same Shooting technique)
• Finishing toward the target
• Chest over the toes

14. • Objective:
• To emphasize weight transfer and hip rotation
• Set Up & Execution:
• Single player or group up to 5 players
• A pile of ball on one goal even with the pipe
• Player will start with a ball in their stick
• Start with full extension Player will hold extension on back
foot with front foot in a pitchers position
• Player will transfer weight to plant foot to a shot
• Finish and follow through
Shooting Drill – Pitch Shooting
16. • Objective:
• To develop arm extension and appropriate loaded positioning
• Shooting over the top
• Set Up & Execution:
• Single player or group up to 5 players
• A pile of ball on one goal even with the pipe
• Coach with the pile of balls will toss a ball to player forcing him
to extend his arms
• The player will execute proper footwork receiving the ball while
shooting over the goal in front of him to the goal 10 yard away
• Switch sides to work on off hand
Shooting Drill – T Ball Shooting
18. • Objective:
• To develop footwork, emphasizing shooting off the front (Inside
foot)
• The next step to transition into shooting on the run
• Set Up & Execution:
• Player is set up ten yards directly in from of the goal
• Three step move
• Paw step
• Outside foot set up step
• Inside foot target
• Finish and follow through
• Hip rotation should pull the players backside to the corner of
the field
Shooting Drill – Lay Up Shooting
20. • Objective: A high repetition team drill that emphasizes
shooting technique and stickwork (ARMY PREGAME
SHOOTING)
• Set Up & Execution:
• Six Lines: Split between midfield and attack
• Two lines top of the box just outside either side of the cylinder
(MIDFIELD)
• Two lines 10 Yards above GLE at the alley restraining line (MIDFIELD)
• Two line at 5 yards below GLE (ATTACK)
• Balls in four lines above the goal line
• Three segments of 5 minutes
1. Stickwork – Quick dodge on the corners
2. Midfield shooting down the hashes
3. Attack shooting – Low wing shots
Team Drill – NASCAR
30. • Objective:
• A high repetition drill to emphasize shooting up the hash and down
the hash
• Set Up & Execution:
• Four Equal lines:
• Two at GLE ~5 yards outside the pipe
• Two 15 Yards about GLE directly in front of the lines at GLE
• Pass toward the goal line for an up the hash shot
• Pass toward the midline for a down the hash shot
• Rotation:
• Feeder Shooter , Follow pass to GLE GLE to Opposite Corner
