17. Exciting Experiences:
Expressed innovation and interpersonal skills
Contributed artistic skills I sketched a caricature during down time of one
youth, and then I had a whole line of youth wanting their picture done. There
is a sense of joy and sharing the picture with their friends made me feel
happy, since I can give them the spotlight and make them feel proud and
dignified. Later on a youth member shared his drawings with me stating that I
inspired him to draw his observations on the bus ride home. I was extremely
impressed with his level of observation given that he has never taken a formal
art class.
