opportuni0es

Poten4al
for
community
engagement
1. Birds
2. Aviation
3. City soundscapes
31. Engaging the Community
● 3 sub-themes: birds, aviation, city soundscapes
(Amsterdam/London)
● Make use of existing communities
● Make us of an existing community engagement
platform: Historypin (e.g. Europeana 1989)
34. Lessons Learned
● Communities are interested in sharing their knowledge
● Target your message when using social media
● Need to explain the nature of the project (i.e. pilot which
will be improved with feedback over time)
● Some communities wished to see more sounds for
enrichments, before sharing with others
● Provide users with examples of enriched sounds to get
things started
● Be prepared to be surprised by who is interested and
explore this area further (e.g. archeology community)
● Users wanted to see other types as well, such as
audiovisual
● Explore ways to better 'visualise' sounds, or different
entry points rather than browse by map
