AUGUST 04 – PRESENT DATE: ACCENTURE (IT CONSULTANT)
Mark is currently a manager at Accenture with over 15 years of experience working
in global delivery across the SDLC. 10+ years working with Accenture on mainly
Telecommunications and Media projects undergoing major IT and business
transformations (including replacement Mobile and BSS/OSS systems and CRM
systems) and outsourcing of client services (across an organisation).
During his time at Accenture he has worked on projects of various scale and
complexity. He has been responsible for leading teams of up to 50+ resources and
has extensive experience in working with offshore.
CURRENT PROJECT ROLE (ACCENTURE)
Mark currently works as the Growth Portfolio lead which is the largest portfolio
within the programme of work at Virgin Media. This is a £60mil deal that spans over
6 years and Marks portfolio accounts for ~£15mil of this. This role has the following
responsibilities:
• Liaise directly with the Project Manager and System Integrator communities
across Virgin Media to produce ROM's and Quotes for all projects in the portfolio
• Manage the team of ~40 resources across all active projects, as well as drive
demand for forthcoming months
• Build and maintain a healthy relationship with the client Test & Quality team
leads, making them successful and avoiding escalations
• Ensure the TMMi (Level 5) methodology is adhered to and documentation is
completed along with the relevant evidence collected.
• Drive the delivery of the projects offshore where possible, taking responsibility
for the workarounds / eradication of technical barriers to offshoring.
• Track the financial forecast across each of the projects (up to £1mil+ in size)
ensuring any variance to the baseline figures is understood.
• Create and review impact assessments and drive through project plans.
DETAILED PROJECT HISTORY (ACCENTURE)
Previous roles with Accenture include the following:
• Transition Lead – Virgin Media (Aug 11 to Feb 12)
o Responsible for transitioning the Telco and Mobile portfolio made up of
~40 resources from the incumbent supplier over to Accenture totalling
~1000 mandays of effort.
o Once transition was completed, responsible for test delivery of 2
releases ~£640k of work.
• Project Manager - Vodafone UK, BI project (Jan 10 to Aug 11)
o Responsible for E2E delivery of projects through to delivery into
production.
o Lead teams of 3 to 5 people based mainly onshore
o Managed a budget of ~500k.
• Test Lead - Vodafone UK, BI project (Mar 09 to Dec 09)
o Lead teams of 3 -5 people based mainly onshore.
o Responsible for the E2E test process of the projects.
• SIT Test Lead - Vodafone UK, SCM Phase B project (Feb 08 - Dec 08)
o Lead a team of a team of 12 people (5 deployed offshore and 7 deployed
onshore).
o Responsible for System and SIT testing activities.
SEPTEMBER 00 – AUGUST 04: UNISYS LTD (CONSULTANT)
Mark worked for Unisys Ltd. at the London Centre of Excellence (LCoE), which was
part of their Teleco Market Sector. In his role here he worked for a number of clients
in the media industry such as Orange, France Telecom, BT and Centertel.

Mark has worked in many different team orientated jobs and
physical activities at varying levels of the hierarchy. For these he
has had to develop his written and oral communication skills. He
has also learned to seek and accept criticism, using this in a
positive manner to develop further.
In addition to working in a team Mark has had the opportunity to
act as a single representative of the company during his time at
Accenture. This has not only enabled him to better understand the
processes of liaising between clients and vendors with specific
needs but has also provided him with experience in prioritising
tasks that need to be completed within a project and understand
the full E2E delivery process.
Through travel and work Mark has learnt to develop his
stakeholder management skills and can relate well with others
both within an organisation and externally; at all levels. This has
been reinforced by working at different clients in different
countries each with different work ethics. Mark recognises the
