If we are eating one of our favorite foods we are prone to say that a
moderate amount is more than what we actually should be eating. We
tend to eat more (at times overeat) of what we like more.

We’ve all had episodes of emotional eating, but when
we do, our feelings get in the way of how much we
think we should actually be eating and moderation
may be thrown out the window.

After we workout we tend to lose all sights of what should be considered a
moderate amount of food to eat.

Depending on how little (or how much) we eat throughout the day is a factor in
how much we consume at our next eating occasion. Not eating throughout the
day can often lead to a bigger meal later that night.

When we go out to eat, the chefs preparing the food are likely not thinking
about how much we should be eating. We tend to not police ourselves
because we think that since it’s on the plate it should be eaten. How many
times have you gotten a doggie­bag for your food? When was the last time?

MODERATION?
There isn’t a one­size­fits­all answer. It’s important to know the nutritional information of what we
are eating — such as how much is a serving size? Or how much fat or carbohydrates does this item
have? Also, depending on the type of diet you want is a factor in how you moderate what you eat. If
you are eating more protein in your diet as compared to a normal diet, a moderate amount is likely
more than what it would be otherwise.
