Existing social network services provide list of friends to users based on their request given. But it will not fulfil the user’s preferences in real life. Due to overloaded memory of the server memory size increases and lacking its efficiency. By implementing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation Algorithm we extracting their lifestyles and sensing the similarity of lifestyles between users by using embedded sensors in the smartphones. Based on friend matching graphs we return a list of people with highest similarity of lifestyles. Feedback mechanism is integrated in this friendbook to get the results of users in choosing friends. We have implemented friendbook on the Android-based smartphones and evaluated its performance on both small scale experiments and large scale simulations. Finally, we reduce the memory size of the server and improving its performance.

Online social networks (OSNs) have attracted billions of users, and play an important role in people's daily life. A user often has accounts on multiple OSN sites. In this paper, we study the emerging "cross-site linking" function, which is supported by many OSNs. Our study is based on Foursquare, a representative location-based social networking (LBSN) service. We conduct a data-driven analysis by using crawled public profiles of almost all (if not all) Foursquare users. Our analysis has shown that the cross-site linking function is widely adopted by Foursquare users, and the users who have enabled this function are more active than other users. We have also found that users who are more concerned with online privacy have a lower probability to enable the cross-site linking function. Besides analyzing crawled Foursquare user profiles, we further explore cross-site linking between Foursquare and other OSN sites, i.e., Facebook and Twitter. The study on "Foursquare-Facebook" linking indicates that users have a high probability to provide consistent information to different OSNs. Meanwhile, "Foursquare-Twitter" linking is used to demonstrate the usefulness of aggregating user-generated content across multiple OSN sites. We present a gender-based analysis of Twitter, which is made accurate by leveraging cross-site links between Foursquare and Twitter.

Over two billion people signed up for Facebook. This site the most used site for people when using the Internet. People are not watching TV so much anymore - they using Facebook, Youtube and Netflix and number of popular web sites. Some people denote their time working for others online. What drives people to write an article on Wikipedia? They don´t get paid. Companies are enlisting people to help with innovations and sites such as Galaxy Zoo ask people to help identifying images. And why do people have to film themselves singing when they cannot sing and post the video on Youtube? In this lecture we talk about how people are using the web to interact in new ways, and doing stuff.

Stolz, Simon / Schlereth, Christian (2021): "Predicting Tie Strength with Ego Network Structures", Journal of Interactive Marketing, 54(May): 40-52. Not all social media “friends” are close friends but distinguishing them from mere acquaintances is an important task in marketing. The notion of a close friend is reflected in the metric tie strength, but the true tie strength is often unobserved in online social networks. With this research, we propose an approach that predicts real-world tie strength via online da-ta measures of similarity, interaction, and network data. At its core, we assess ego network structures to predict tie strength, i.e., all first-degree connections and the interlinkage among them. Ego networks are easier to obtain than full networks, and researchers can process them more efficiently. We explain why bridging ego network positions could be associated with real-world tie strength and demonstrate the high discriminatory power of related network measures. In combination with similarity and interaction measures, the precision of identifying real-world strong ties is 45%. Finally, we empirically highlight the practical relevance of this finding by demonstrating that people react stronger to suggestions of a close friend com-pared to an acquaintance in a social advertisement experiment.
