Living in the woods, I experience
trees all around me. The
seasonal changes are dramatic
and tie me to the earth.
Summers are green green
green. Autumn is mellow yellow.
And winter, when there are no
leaves -- black and white.
This is an installation inspired by
leaves or perhaps the absence
of leaves. An abstracted black
on black image is reversed in
the four tiles. Raised textured
areas are built up with a mixture
of grog and clay. Straw marks
from the firing process are
visible on the smooth flat slip
surface.
