This document summarizes a literature review on fire prevention in health care facilities and its possible associated complications. The review analyzed published articles from 2010-2015 that addressed fire prevention in health facilities through research literature. Key risks and patient safety in ICUs were identified, including fires, medical errors, medication errors, health care-associated infections, and issues related to the improper use of medical materials and devices. The study highlights the importance of knowing these risks and improving reporting of issues in hospital care processes to enhance patient safety.
