Como siempre, busquen en el diccionario las que sean nuevas y
agréguenlas en su diccionario personal.
4. El imperativo - Forma
Es igual a la forma base del verbo, no lleva sujeto
expreso, es igual en singular y plural.
Ejemplos:
Turn on the camera by pressing the ON button.
(imperativo)
If you turn on the camera, the green light will go on.
(presente)
Turning on the camera.(gerundio)
He turned on the camera.(pasado)
6. El imperativo - Uso
Se utiliza para dar instrucciones u órdenes. Es
una de las formas verbales más utilizadas en
manuales de instrucciones.
Ejemplos:
Turn off in the event of malfunction
Observe caution when handling the battery
Use the interface cables sold or provided with your equipment.
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
7. Imperativo – negación
El imperativo negativo usa Don’t, Do not, o
Never.
Ejemplos:
Do not damage, modify, or bend the power cable.
Don’t expose the battery to flame or to excessive heat.
Never place the strap around the neck of an infant or child.
¡Ojo! Se pueden dar instrucciones de NO hacer algo utilizando el
imperativo afirmativo, especialmente con el verbo avoid.
Ejemplos:
Avoid contact with liquid crystal.
Avoid physical shock or impact, such as hammering.
