Problem Statement
Trees are constantly being cut down and resulting in climate
change.
We have ideated a platform to make people aware of climate
change and make them realize that tree plantation can save
the planet and so the human race.
Description
Our platform is an mobile application on which a person can
participate in different environment related
campaign/events, gain knowledge, share his/her own work
and also contribute/inspire through either knowledge, action
or collaborative work.
User Research
In our research we needed data so we made a list of questions.
After that we interviewed people to get their insights which
helps us create the a virtual persona based on which we build a
scenario.
Based on that scenario we mapped a user journey map which
point out the key features which we finally included in our
application.
Questionnaire
Questionnaire is a group of question that is made in beginning
of research which after interviewing help us provide primary
data.
Here is few of the questions that we have asked to collect
primary data:
1. What do you know about climate change?
2. Have you participated in any tree planting activity?
3. Have you planted a tree before? Tell us about your experience.
4. Is it necessary to use tree based products, what is your opinion about this?
5. Would you like to form a community for tree conservation?
Interviews
In this part of research, we go out to meet people or connect
via call and ask them the questions that we have prepared.
We usually collect at least 3 to 4 answers of each questions
and write them down, analyse them and get insights.
Example Questions - Have you planted a tree before? Tell us about your
experience.
● Yes, I have planted few trees in my home with my family and It was a very
exciting experience.
● Yes, in a school summer camp I have planted lots of trees around the city.
It was exciting.
Persona Creation
In persona creation we make a fictional character that
represents the needs of a larger group of users.
It include behavior patterns, goals, skills, attitudes, and
background information, as well as the environment in which
a persona operates.
User Problem Scenario
User problem scenario is similar to a small story that depicts a part of daily
life of the UX persona that we have created with ample emphasis on pain
points and motivations.
A problem scenario is a 'day-in-a-life' narrative that describes the pain points
and motivations of the user in an elaborate manner.
Scenarios can be very detailed, and should outline the ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘when’,
‘where’, ‘why’, and ‘how’ of the user's pain points.
Journey Mapping
Journey mapping or Experience mapping helps UX designers improve their
design by meeting customer experiences with their expectations.
Design teams use customer journey maps to see how customer experiences
meet customers’ expectations and find areas where they need to improve
designs.
Customer journey maps are research-based tools which design teams use to
reveal typical customer experiences over time and visualize the many
dimensions and factors involved.
User Flows
User flows are flow chart like depiction of our work what step do we have
to take while making of a designs.
User flow is a term for the description of a set of tasks that a user must do
to complete some process. In IT and on the Web, professionals might
analyze user flows to try to make websites or technologies more user-
friendly, and to understand the goals of the user as well as the goals of the
company or other party that the Web project serves.
Information Architecture
In Information Architecture or IA is a visual depiction of the designs
functionality and feature in hierarchical manner. This is extremely helpful for
the next step of UX design which is wireframing and prototyping.
Here we use LATCH framework to organise information
IA is, like a blueprint, a visual representation of the product’s infrastructure,
features, and hierarchy. The level of detail is up to the designer, so IA may
also include navigation, application functions and behaviors, content, and
flows.
