Career progression
at Zurich iCON
Consultants lead discrete pieces of a project. They conduct
analyses, interview business partners and synthesize results
of their analyses. They contribute to project
recommendations and frequently present their findings to
business partners. Consultants often plan fun events for
teams.
Senior Consultants lead entire ‘workstreams’ and work
directly with senior business partners. Their responsibilities
include conducting analyses, synthesizing analytical findings
into recommendations, structuring presentations and
sharing insights with business partners. They assist in overall
project management and coaching of junior colleagues.
Managers are responsible for leading a full project team.
The more junior managers work closely with Principals and
business partners to define the project objectives and
structure workstreams. They ensure the project is on track
and that it meets the expectations of the business partners.
Senior Managers develop and lead complex projects by
bringing to bear deep insurance and functional expertise.
They work continually with business partners to identify
project opportunities and shape objectives. They are
responsible for day-to-day project management and
formal mentoring of junior colleagues.
Principals work with senior executives to provide thought
partnership on strategic and operational priorities. They
apply deep consulting and insurance expertise to shape
projects and guide teams on achieving impact together
with their respective business partners. Principals have
people management responsibilities and are accountable
for specific clients.
Road ahead: we support the transition into
challenging line management roles after a
distinguished career at iCON.
