What do we mean by inquiry-
based learning?
• Inquiry based learning approaches aim at
fostering inquiring minds and attitudes in our
students:
– The teacher builds on students’ prior knowledge
– Open questions which allow for multiple solution
strategies are posed
– Students ask questions, explore problems explain
phenomena and collaborate
– Mistakes are valued
