With responsibilities for the P&L of the third biggest trade of APL (Asia
Europe), I have accountabilities for the overall P&L budget, including annual
revenue (USD 621 M), contract planning of the Europe based customers , to
logistics metrics with the aim to maximize yield of the assets deployed (ships
and equipment).
The job entails the implementation and execution across all European
countries (North Continent and Med) of the annual plans of the Trade, and
the direct responsibility for negotiating multi million dollar contracts with the
main customers/shippers.
APL Mexico is a branch of APL Co Lte (NOL Group) with 80 people with 7
offices spread throughout the country.
• Some of the top customers in the dry sector are General Motors, Costco,
Hewlett Packard, Nissan and Walmart; whereas in the reefer sector are the
main avocado exporters.
• The sales of APL Mexico have been increased an average of 7% YOY during
my tenure, whilst at the same time containing the cost per unit, which in
combination made that the results of the Mexico trade yielded one of the
best results globally.
• The Mexico Trade Income Statement revenue in year 2013 was USD 263 M,
with USD 195 Min operating costs (fix and variable).
