OBJECTIVE: The objective of this project was to
provide a hands on training experience for the
members particularly interested in photography
but not necessarily having any former
knowledge or training in it.

OUTCOME: By the end of the workshop members
learnt how better to use their phone cameras and
digital cameras. This outdoor workshop was
followed by a review session at the club, where
pictures taken were reviewed by the facilitators and
individual feedback provided

Objective: The objective of the project was a
Membership Drive to increase our club strength.

Outcome: A total of six members joined the club as a
result of the campaign.

pictures , flooding facebook with
inspiring messages to join ROTARACT !”

INDEPENDENCE DAY#socare#always#educate#children
VENUE: SOCARE, Bangalore
DATE: AUGUST 15, 2014.
Outcome: The children who had very little exposure to history were
truly awakened to what their motherland has gone through and
understood the many sacrifices that leaders of this nation had to
make. Debriefing session emphasised on values of non-violence,
honesty and service. This was most reassuring for these children
who already feel victimised being children of Prisoners.
Objective: The members gathered at SOCARE
to educate the children about India’s struggle
for freedom and to engage the children with
storytelling sessions, role play and group
discussions with topics on Indian History. We
also took this opportunity to set up a library
of 1000+ books which were catalogued.
“A project that made most impact on me was
this one. I feel blessed to have been a part of
them, a lovely bunch of kids” Says Sabaressh
“for me this project was of great importance.
The way the kids there are enthusiastic and
are willing to learn makes it always fun to go
back to. They receive us with an open heart
and are greatly receptive to us.” Says Vivek

Objective: The aim of the
project was to spend an evening
at Karunashraya and to
entertain the residents. There
was a band performance along
with a solo performance by one
of the members. Apart from
music there was also a dance
performance by three of the
members.
Outcome: After having lightened the
mood for some time every member left
with an awakening to value life!
“This was one of the most memorable
projects. To have spent an evening
entertaining terminally ill cancer patients
was truly worthwhile. It makes you
appreciate your good health and be
grateful” , says Sagarika

DOCUMENTARY SCREENING#learn#grow#global#citizenship

Documentary screening is an on going
project of E-City from its inception. The
project aims at educating members about
various world issues through screening of
significant documentaries every few
months. Screenings are followed by lively
discussions about the concerned topic.
The project increases awareness and
sensitivity among members on
burning social issues and promoting
Global Citizenship. and has lead to
brilliant discussions and project
ideas amongst the club members.
“One of the projects that brings me back
to E-City each time and I have not only
learnt a lot through the project but also
planning for it has lead me to do a lot of
thinking about global issues “, says

IDYE#playing#host#breakfastdaires
Playing host to two IDYE teams was a
wonderful opportunity for E-City.
Meeting rotaractors from two different
districts, showing them around and
exchanging ideas was an awe inspiring
experience. “Being part of the IDYE hosting team
was an incredible experience. I truly
enjoyed meeting rotaractors from different
places and understanding how Rotaract
works in differently in other places. “ says

SOFTSKILLS#SOCARE#deepawali#brighter#thoughts#brighter#days

Objective: The independence day project at
SoCare was a huge success with the kids and they
wanted another such project. We went back on
deepawali to conduct a similar session. The kids
were divided into three groups. The youngest
group shared with us interesting stories they
knew, the middle age group were to write essays
on generic essay topics and the older children
were engaged in group discussions on various
topics.
Outcome: The kids
thoroughly enjoyed the
session once again like the
previous time. The
perspective and thoughts of
these children left us inspired
to do more.
“This project is very close to my heart.
The main reason being, the fact that we were the
reason from someone’s learning. It had a great
impact on me because, as this was my first big
project and to be partly responsible for such
beautiful smiles was an overwhelming
experience.“, says Sandeep Shastry

JAIL VISIT#newperspective#life#behind#bars#SOCAREkids

AVENUE: CLUB SERVICE
Objective: The visit to the jail was aimed
at creating awareness among the
members, about the living conditions in a
jail and educational provisions provided
to the inmates. As we work so closely
with children of jail inmates, the
members also wished to have a dialogue
with the authorities’ to understand the
provisions given by the state to these
children.
Outcome: In our visit, the members learnt about
the poor sanitation conditions in the emergency
rooms. In the kids sections, an acute shortage of
play material was noticed. The members decided
to collect the same for the kids and hand them
over during the next visit. A dialogue with the
authorities was not possible and hence a direct
meeting with them was decided to be scheduled.
“This visit was an unique experience,
everyone has a nation of what a jail must
be, influenced either by books or
newspapers however the reality of it is
very different.”, says Pallavi

the conditions of PLHIVS .
The idea was to explore opportunities of working
with the NGO in supporting their cause / work.

in members about the simplified method of detecting
developmental eye issues and retinoblastoma ( cancer
of the eye) in children between the age of 0-6.

“The NID was one of my favourite projects
because though we were serving a small
community, we were contributing to a
national cause. I’m proud to say I had a small
role to play in eradicating Polio in India.” says

“Being on the panel for this awards function
was a lot of fun. The whole event panned out
amazingly well. From the award categories, to
the mind blowing costumes and to the way the
whole place was decorated!”

INR 73,000 IN <24 HOURS
About 30% of the funds were used to procure
relief materials and were sent with Ms. Tsosoe
and through Goonj Foundation. The rest of the
funds were given to RI Dist 3190 Needy Heart
Foundation and Samarpan foundation, both of
which are contributing to rebuilding a stronger
Nepal.
In the aftermath of the catastrophic
earthquakes in Nepal, the members of E-City
wanted to reach out in any way possible. A
great opportunity came by when a well
wisher of the club was traveling to Nepal
carrying relief material. In less than 24 hours,
the club mobilized INR 73,0000.
“We do a lot of planned projects at
the club to help the community. But this
was one such opportunity, where
everything had to be planned and
executed in a day. I feel proud of the way
the club rose to the occasion and did
everything.” says Sandeep Singh

SAMYOG#project#humane#rollcall#beststill
The club actively participated in the annual
Rotaract District Conference, SAMYOG.
As part of Project Humane, the club
recognized Mr. Bharath, who scarified his
own academic pursuit to be a scribe of
his friend, Mr. Ashwin who is a
paraplegic.
The club took part in the Roll Call
session and was awarded the “Best
Still” award.
“An innovative and interactive youth platform
where one can meet people from all walks of life,
this is the best way to describe SAMYOG. It gave
me the opportunity to learn about the lesser
although the real “Larger than Life” personalities.

Community and understand the scope for working with them and
for the cause .

Outcome: The members learnt a lot about the
life of the LGBT community and also about the
legal battles the community is fighting. Being an
extremely insightful session, a lot of project ideas
to support their cause was discussed.
“The LGBT project is very close to my heart
because I got to learn so much about a
community that is so misunderstood and
marginalised. Their ‘can-do’ spirit despite all
the odds they face, was truly inspiring. It
moved me deeply as it was engaging on a very
human level.”says Niharika

Objective:
After a thorough need analysis
through discussions with
administrative team, a list of
essentials was made and the same
was to be provided to the home.
Outcome: we provided them with basic
essentials like food grains, medicines &
child Care products worth INR 8000/-.
We are planning a medical camp for the
residents of Home of Hope.
“This has been one of the most inspiring
projects. For me personally, this place stands
to be a true representation of selfless service
and what humanity really stands for. Feel
really proud to have been a part of this
