   One powerful reason is that The Occupational Safety and Health
    Administration (OSHA) is responsible for ensuring that
    businesses adhere to fire safety in the workplace. In addition to
    regulations on the amount and placement of portable fire
    extinguishers per square foot, businesses are required to have
    annual inspections, conduct monthly visual maintenance
    checks, have internal maintenance and hydrostatic testing every
    few years and recharge the extinguishers anytime the

    provide employee training on the proper use of an extinguisher.
