3. UUDA’s Purpose
“Lets do good work”
There is a power that is amplified when people gather together
“UUDA is to act as a regional resource promoting growth and development in the
sport of ultimate, providing opportunities to play and learn, embracing the ‘spirit of
the game,’ and participating in community service.”
Most of us here are passionate about ultimate…and probably for
different reasons
In some way, shape, or form, we all look to promote and grow the
sport of ultimate
We all have different ideas on the best way to promote and grow
the sport…..and that’s okay
“When we see or interact with someone in the ultimate
community; assume their intentions are good”
4. UUDA’s role in the ultimate community and theories
2 HATS
1st HAT – As a resource in promoting and growing
We want to be available for all ultimate in Utah
We understand there is a lot of ultimate in Utah that we have nothing
to do with.
BYU intramurals has 100+ teams
Murray rec league has had spring, summer, and fall leagues for 15+years
Barefoot ultimate
Even a professional ultimate team has been purchased in Utah
We want to be available and have the resources so when our paths
cross…..we can be a resource, support, promote, or combine our
efforts
5. UUDA’s role in the ultimate community and theories
2 HATS
2nd HAT – We go about doing our strategies and theories in promoting and
strengthening the sport of ultimate
Two theories we are working off of when making our decisions:
1. Focus on strengthening rather than actively seeking growth
Strengthen what we have
There is some growth that comes from strengthening
2. Top to bottom/bottom to top approach
6. top to bottom/bottom to top

7. Why do I tell you this?
1. So you understand where we are coming from as an organization
2. I hope you buy into what we are doing and you will want to be apart of it
3. That even if you have different ideas about how best to promote and
grow the sport, we want you to see that we all have the same intentions
and possible combining our efforts as a community will make us all
stronger

coaches cost for the certification
