decipher if you not want a formal job or something casual and
temporary? Craigslist allows you to post adverts informing people that
you are available to teach.
4. 9. Taiwan
Taiwan is a brilliant country to teach English in, thanks to tons of job
opportunities for working with children, high salaries, and lots of other
young teachers to socialise with. The country places a very high
importance on learning English and you will easily find freelance work.
5. 8. Spain
In the last few years, Spain has become one of the exclusive places to
teach English (despite the recent economic downturn). There are plenty
of jobs to choose from, there is an active programme in place for
attracting teachers, and your visa means that you can travel freely
around Europe.
6. 7. Prague
The city has grown considerably in the last few years,
attracting a variety of technology start-ups, which has
created a lot more job opportunities for budding teachers.
While it can be hard to get a job in the public school systems,
there are plenty of language schools in the city to take your
pick from. The pay isn’t as high as other countries like the
Middle East but you are a stone’s throw away from
everywhere in Europe (making Prague the central
destination when wanting to explore the whole continent).

China is a brave new world; it’s an excellent location for teachers of all
abilities.
8. 5. Thailand
Thailand attracts a lot of young teachers new to the job with its cheap

The Middle East attracts many teachers for one reason only - its salary
packages. Middle Eastern countries offer extensively large wages, lots of
benefits and 0 taxes! However, this is no place for a recent university
graduate. These places want qualified and experienced teachers. If you
didn’t teach in a public school in your home country then you have very
little chance of getting a job in this part of the world.
10. 3. Japan
While the cost of living can eat up big chunks of your wages, there are a

generous benefits and completion bonuses.
11. 2. Germany
Germany is an incredibly satisfying environment to work in. You have so
much control over what you teach, the hours that you want to work and
the learning materials you use. There is so much freedom and diversity in

their days start earlier in the morning, meaning they finish earlier in the
day.
