3. Ingredients! 6 squares of unsweetened baker’s chocolate 3 sticks of butter 6 eggs 3 cups of sugar 1 ½ cups of flour 1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla extract ¾ teaspoon of salt
5. Step 2!: Preparing the Pan Grease a 13” x 9” baking pan Best thing to use: Pam for Baking! Other options: butter/flour, vegetable oil (NOT olive oil, ewwww…)
6. Step 3!: Melting a Foundation Melt the chocolate and butter together in a medium saucepan over low heat.
7. Step 4!: Sweetening it Up Remove pan from heat and mix in three cups of sugar. Allow mixture to cool.
8. Step 5!: Beating the Eggs Add eggs one at a time, beating mixture after each one until the egg is mixed in completely. Can beat eggs before adding to mixture, but you don’t have to.
9. Step 6!: Bringing it All Together Add flour, salt, and vanilla extract to mixture. For the sake of your dishes, go in that order! Batter should be thicker and more difficult to stir now…and also more scrumptious-looking.
10. Step 7!: Mmm, batter… Pour mixture into 13” x 9” baking pan. Be sure to scrape the sides of your saucepan with a spatula or spoon! (this is also a good time to taste the batter)
11. Step 8!: The Waiting Game Place the baking pan in the oven and bake for 25-35 minutes.
12. Step 9!: Almost There… Remove brownies from oven. Insert a toothpick into the center of the brownies. If the toothpick comes out covered in batter, put the brownies in for five more minutes and check again. If the toothpick comes out clean…
13. Step 10!: Brownies are Done! Place brownies on a cookie rack to cool/set. Usually best when left to set overnight.
