2. Initial diagnosis
The global warming will not be without effects on the
fruit-bearing and wine productions
Agronomical and physiological: advanced of the
flowering period, shortening of the growing season, necrosis or
drop of the flower buds, ...

PhytoPhyto-sanitary : emerging diseases and pests (or today
secondaries but whose their development could become
alarming), …
Ecological : Higher water requirements ...
requirements,
Economic : spring frost, qualitative losses (sunburn,
splitting, ...)
…

3. A network of partner
In order to answer the justified
interrogations of our organizations a group
organizations,
of 6 partners was formed and assembled a
project (first call to project of the ADAR

agency).
Development of the project over two years
as from September 1, 2005.

4. Objectives
Analyze and comparison of the current and last
situation of the phenologic and climatic evolutions
On the basis of probable climatic scenario
(MétéoFrance model), modeling of the phenologic

and climatic future trend (more or less long term)
Heighten and inform the profession by a dedicated
Internet site providing information and councils
related to the climatic change (adjustment of the
pruning time, ...).

5. Program of work
Sub-group " Observatory "
Orchards and vines of reference : allows to have data
on the phenologic evolutions (common knowledge)
Tests f

knowledge on the frost critical level of various species and
varieties, underline the phenomenon of natural resistance of the
plants to freezing, establish the climatic determinism of the drop

Extreme climatic events : discover if there is a
geographical evolution of these phenomena

8. Outlines
Climatic forecast is a particulary difficult exercise.
Nevertheless we hope for an analysis of the
p
y
physiological impacts of the climatic change on the
fruit and wine productions, like their agronomic and
economic consequences.
i
This critical analysis will offer a global solution multicrop on the prevention of the climatic risks.

The circulation of knowledge to the professionals, will
allow in particular the adaptation of the growing
strategies.
Perpetuation of this service (
