US20150112678 illustrates a system for capturing sounds, generating a sound model for each captured sound, and
identifying a detected sound using the sound model. The system enables a user to capture sounds specific to their
environment (e.g., sound of their doorbell, sound of smoke detector, or sound of baby crying) and individual word
recognition (e.g. "help", "fire"), but exclude identifying speech(i.e. speech recognition). The system includes
devices for capturing sounds (e.g., PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet-PC, webcam, microphone, smart home
automation panel etc.). The devices for capturing sounds transmit the captured sound to the audio analytics system
for analysis. The audio analytics system identifies the detected sound by comparing it to the sound models. If the
detected sound matches one of the sound models, then the sound is identified. If an action has been defined and
associated with a particular sound/sound model, then the devices for capturing sounds act in responseto the
identification of the sound. For example, the device sends a message or email to a user.

US20150364028 illustrates a smart home security system for detecting the home premise condition using audio
analytics. Sounds occurring on or near the premise can be detected and analyzed. In responseto the analysis, the
system performs tasks that are responsive to the detected sounds. Forexample, the system detects a sound with a
security system (e.g., a microphone in the security camera) and determines whether the sound belongs to a
recognized class of sounds. The recognized classes include a security class, a health condition class, a property
damage class, or an alarm class. The sounds that belong to the recognized classes include the sounds ofa crying
baby above a predetermined threshold, barking dogs sounds, breaking glass sounds, talking sounds, fire alarms
sounds, carbonmonoxide alarms sounds, sound ofan automobile driving by the home, or a voice of a specific
individual. The system sends the recognized class to a remote control unit and causes a predetermined responseto
occurbased on the recognized class. The predetermined response includes sending messages to law enforcement or
medical personnel.

US20150194034 illustrates a system for monitoring an area by an imaging system and detecting an incapacitated
person(e.g., unable to move or respond) in the monitored area using video analytics. The system includes cameras
capturing a sequence of images of areas where a personis expected to spend a majority of his or her time. The
captured images can be processed to detect an anomaly when a personbecomes ill and incapacitated (e.g., sharp
movements representing a fall). When such anomalies are detected, a notification can be transmitted to another
location (e.g., a designated personand/or an emergency operator) indicating that medical assistance is needed. The
system enables individuals with certain medical conditions or individuals in their old age remain in their own
residence instead of moving to special communities (e.g., nursing homes or assisted living facilities).
