3. Not only a newspaper – an online database! Thewebsiteprovides a uniqueCampus Guidewhich shows all of the Restaurants, Nightlife, Shopping Centers, and Hotels and Health and Beautylocations in thearea.
4. Meet the Editors… The editors are the people that make what we take for granted happen every day. The convenience of the Daily Campus and the factual news and irresistible commentaries are all filtered through these splendid people!
5. Melanie Deziel – Editor-in-Chief Looking past the ugly bricks in the background, you can see the shine of inspiration in Melanie’s eyes…here’s what she had to say about her job… “I am a Journalism student at the University of Connecticut. I am a hardworking student but also dedicated to my work at The Daily Campus, the university's student newspaper. I'm big into technology and I love using new media and social media to stay up to date on news, gadgets and more. I am on twitter and facebook and I keep a blog about youtube videos called The Viral Vitals.”
6. Brian Zahn – Associate Managing Editor "I think being an editor at The Daily Campus suits me because I'm utilizing skills that I've learned, such as copy editing and designing, and applying them to a real, daily paper. Whereas my primary interest outside of The Daily Campus is reporting news, being the associate managing editor gives me a more holistic experience - I get to cultivate new writers' skills, think about more aspects of journalism than just the stories themselves and also learn things about how to improve my own writing. I love being surrounded by like-minded individuals who I can share my ideas and experiences with on a daily basis."
7. PurbitaSaha – Focus Editor "I like focus because as a writer I'm not limited to facts and the other actions of other people. I can integrate creativity with journalism, more so than a news or sports writer."
8. Matt McDonough – Sports Editor McDonough is from "I think sports journalism is underrated. If I wasn't writing about sports, I would have a lot of trouble doing any other craft in this field. I worked here since freshman year and worked my way up the ladder. By senior year I lucked out and became the sports editor."
9. Nick Rondinone – News Editor This enthusiastic reporter from Fairfield, CT didn’t have much to say, except for a witty comment… "I chose to be the news editor because I am a reporter."
